The tea bag trick

Hi everyone,

I bet most people don't realise that people have been using tea bags to do tricks with for years.  I frist saw this trick in Corfu, back in 1997.  It was described to me and my mate Kev as the Greek space project.  Anyway see for yourselves:

Hope you enjoyed that.  And of course don't try this at home unless you are an adult or you're being supervised by an adult.  Hey but if you're outside go for your life ;D

Enjoy your next cup of tea ;0)

Betty's Tea Rooms In The Snow!

Hi Everyone,

I tried to get in my car this morning to go to work.  But too much snow had fallen so it was back inside.  Got my snow boarding jacket out and then head for the kitchen.  Grabbed my thermos flask and few tea bags.  Filled up with hot water and milk.  Then on my way!

It was tough going as many inches of snow had fallen overnight in Harrogate.  But I pressed on only to stop once or twice to take some photo's and drink from my thermos flask full of lovely hot tea!  See my trusty thermos below:

Not many people were around at 8.30ish as the road were still full of snow.  But the great North Yorshire gritters were out and by 11ish most of the main roads had been cleared.  Well girls and boys of the North Yorkshire grittig fraturnity!

I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to get a few pictures of the world famous Betty's Tea Rooms for the blog.  So here here's one with my flask in the foreground (slightly blurred) and Betty's tea rooms in the back ground:

And here's one from a bit further back, so get to see the tea rooms in their splender!

And another one from a slightly different angle:

So there you go.  On a tea related note.  I enjoyed my black tea bag full of lovely black tea leaves on my way to work.  During the journey I pasted a glorious winter scene at Betty's Tea Rooms.  I'm glad I had a flask full of hot tea for my trip!

Hope you enjoy your next cup of tea!

Welcome to 'World of Green & Black Tea Leaves' Blog

Hi everyone, I'd like to share with you my thoughts on why I created this blog. Why I created 'World of Green & Black Tea Leaves'.

Well, I was celebrating New Year's Eve 2009 (my 39th New Years Eve on Planet E) last night. I drank a bit of wine, had a bit of cheese, had a little beer (some nachos) and finished off with a glass of champagne. Danced around a little. Didn't fall over once. Stumbled, but never fell!

But after all the partying had finished the first thing I did was head for the kitchen. Or more precisely, I headed to the kettle in the kitchen. Whilst the kettle boiled I headed for the top right cupboard. Scratched around for a tea bag. The kettle nearing it's climax by now. Dropped a tea bag in my mug. The tea bag containing black tea leaves (but I do sometimes have green tea bags too!).  Poured the hot water in my cup and then headed for the drawer on the left and found the last teaspoon (where do all the teaspoons go?). Stirred for probably slightly too long. Then hit the tea with some milk and sat down to enjoy. OK not the most perfect of tea experiences, but it hit the spot.

Then I got to thinking. Of all the drinks that I'd had last night this was the one that had the most steps to it. This was the one that was the most comforting (maybe not the most exciting), but this was the one that I executed on autopilot .

Think about it. What happens when you hear about the worst news ever. If you're like me you'll ponder it for 5 Min's or so. Maybe share with another. But inside 15 Min's the moment is shared with a cup of tea. Same with the big moments the job interview, the proposal, the birth of our children. We might like to think we're cool and share those moments with something more exciting, something more sexy, but truth be told 9 times out of ten it's gonna be with a cup of tea.

So this blog is created to celebrate the great drink of tea. Whether it be a black tea, white tea, green tea, peppermint tea or whatever.

Let me know what your favourite cup of tea is.

Tell where you had your perfect cup of tea.

Who did you share your perfect cup of tea with?

Why was your perfect cup of tea so special?

How did your perfect cup of tea make you feel?

Etc., etc.

Please include stories, pictures and YouTube clips. I'd love to hear from you all.

Enjoy your next cup of tea,
Howard
